Geography - Exploring compass points and messy maps
In our Geography lessons this term, we are learning about our local area. We have looked at photographs and shared the physical and human features that help us to recognise these familiar places.
We have also looked at aerial maps of our school and the surrounding area. To help us to describe what we see on various locations of the maps, we learnt about the four main compass points and practised finding these on our school compass and on compasses we explored with a partner.
We then used what we had learnt about position and mapping to make a messy aerial map of our classroom using lots of different resources. We had to think carefully about where to place each item.
