Bridlewood Primary School and The Park Academies Trust (TPAT) welcome enquiries and applications for Governors at Bridlewood and across our family of schools in North and West Swindon.

Governors support the Trustees of TPAT by focusing on strategic monitoring to achieve continual improvement within children’s education at each individual school. Acting as a critical friend you will be providing an essential role for the local school and the wider multi-academy trust. By becoming a Governor, you will find the interaction between the Trust Board and school is extremely rewarding.

Introduction to, and role of the Local Governing Committee

The school is led by the LGC, a committee of the Trust Board, and is accountable to the Trustees for its decisions.

The LGC is responsible for a range of areas including:

Ensuring that standards of attainment and progress by all pupils at the school are high.
Taking a strategic role in the governance of the school.
Acting as a 'critical friends' to the school and its staff.
Ensuring that TPAT's vision for the school is carried forward.

We meet together termly (6 times per year) to discuss all aspects of school life, supporting Mrs Sammon and the staffing team in the leadership of our successful school.
